The new Smashing Pumpkins album, MACHINA/the machines of God released worldwide on 28th February 2000. And they're touring Europe in January beforehand. The album, the bands fifth, is produced by Flood and Billy Corgan, the team behind the world-wide double CD Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and sees the return to the band of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin after 3 years.The album follows the bands 1998 release, Adore, which has sold over three million copies worldwide and was nominated for a Grammy Award for best Alternative Album.
The Smashing Pumpkins - Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and new bass player Melissa Auf Der Maur - will spend the next 18 months touring extensively throughout the world beginning with theatre venues in Europe in January 2000.
