The Auteurs (from the French word for "author", an "auteur"). Formed in 1992.
Lineup: Luke Haines (vocal,guitar,keyboards), Alice Readman (bass), Glenn Collins (drums).
It may seem as if pop culture is stuck in a never ending loop from The Bootleg Beatles and Bjorn Again, to BMX's and break dancing.But with The Auteurs nostalgia is ripped to shreds, especially with the latest album "How I Learnt To Love The Bootboys"."It's a record of anti-nostalgia," says Auteurs frontman and songwriter Luke Haines. "To me its an incendiary device planted in a car boot sale. You can almost picture a slow motion sequence of Donny Osmond dolls being blown to bits."
